Tianmen Mountain- Photos

A road with 99 hairpins, a staircase with 999 steps, dangerously dangling cliff paths drilled into a mountain 999 metres up and the world’s longest gondola running for 999 (+6456) metres, Tianmen mountain is one the most exciting destinations and a key part of our China bucket list. There’s a huge hole through it which fighter jets, paragliders and blokes dressed as squirrels have flown through and skywalks made of glass hanging over the edge of it. All of this incredibly exciting mixture of natural and engineering marvel to be seen, was not. Mother Nature had decided that today wasn’t the day to look down over cliff edges or up at massive stone donuts, today was a day to stare into the thick, impenetrable sea of cloud. Sometimes it just doesn’t go your way and you’ve just got to make the most of it, no matter the misty disappointment or damaged budget.
